Chef Mandy Thompson is passionate about food – medicine, plant-based cooking and teaching. As a holistic health practitioner and teacher of children and youth cooking classes at Kent County Library, her talents and experience fit perfectly with the mission of the Revive & Thrive project. She brings to the kitchen her expertise in healthy and delicious cooking as well as youth development. Mandy is a mother of three and is always cooking something new for her family. When you see Chef Mandy in the kitchen, she’ll be wearing one of her awesome veggie t-shirts.

Martha is a mother of 3 children, loves food and a healthy lifestyle: she has certifications as a healthy lifestyle coach and yoga teacher. She deeply believes that food is medicine and cooking is care.
Abbie has been volunteering with Revive & Thrive as our Social Media Coordinator since February 2020 and joined our staff as our Customer Service Manager in November 2020. Good food—and its power to heal, connect, and nourish—has been a lifeline in her life, from serving at her church’s weekly soup kitchen as a teenager to working in food service management and catering. Abby brings years of nonprofit experience and has worked with a variety of groups to build community and advocate for their well-being. She enjoys connecting with each new Revive & Thrive Project client and providing life support through fresh, nutritious meals.
Quana has a background in healthcare, manufacturing and most recently worked in human resources with a global online travel agency. Her passions are traveling and volunteering. Quana has volunteered with Kids Food Basket, Gilda’s Club Laughfest, and LINC-UP to name a few organizations. She is excited to be involved in food packaging and delivery at Revive & Thrive, where she feels connected to the mission and purpose and is always ready and willing to help.
Shelley has a strong administrative background and together with her husband ran the family business Palma Mechanical Insulations for 15 years. She brings her organizational, accounting and business skills, as well as her enthusiasm and positive attitude to helping Revive & Thrive in all aspects, particularly fundraising, networking and program awareness. Shelly learned about the Revive & Thrive project through a close friend who was one of the program’s first diners. When looking for ways to give back to the community and help those affected by serious illness, the choice was easy.

Donna retired as Chief Operating Officer at D.A. Blodgett – Saint John Spring 2021, Direct Service, Volunteer Management, Grant Writing, Program Development, Mentoring and Coaching, Risk Management, Quality Assurance and Evaluation , pursuing careers that include accreditation and executive leadership. Passionate about finding new and unique ways to continue to serve our community, Donna found the mission of the Grow and Thrive Project to be a perfect fit for her passion for personal, family and community well-being.
In addition to her work as an Accreditation Consultant, Donna serves as a peer on the Accreditation Council. Donna is an active outdoorswoman who enjoys running, hiking and biking, in addition to spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren in northern Michigan.
Krista Hungerford is a senior manager at Nichols. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Cornerstone University and a master’s degree in accounting from Grand Valley State University. As part of the specialized accounting services team, Krista works closely with a variety of businesses and non-profit organizations to ensure they have accurate financial information. His areas of expertise include accounting processes, financial reporting, payroll, budgeting and cleaning up accounting clutter.
Krista brings her passion for healthy eating to our team. Outside of cooking at the factory, Krista enjoys spending time with her family, golfing, reading, and watching the Detroit Tigers.

As part of Designing Her 2.0, Monica uses her skills and passions to serve the community and help make the world a better place. “After learning about Revive and Thrive’s mission, how the mission is accomplished, and the organization they serve as a role model, I knew it was an organization I wanted to help grow.”

Christina holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Michigan State University and a Master of Public Health from Boston University. He also holds certifications in lean management and improvement skills. Christina currently serves as the Director of Program Management at the I-PASS Institute, leading teams managing large-scale implementation projects across health systems. Her professional experience also includes clinical nutrition consulting and research management.
Having worked with chronically ill patients to improve their quality of life through food, Christina has developed a strong appreciation for the positive impact food systems can have on human and community health when they are sustainable and equitable. In her spare time, Christina enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and their dog, Clifford.

He previously worked at BDO for 5 years as a member of the core tax services team and for 4 years as an EMT/Patrol at Vail Resorts while living in Colorado. He is a native of Grand Rapids and a graduate of Michigan State. John brings his accounting skills and passion for helping others in the community to the Recovery and Development Project. She loves working in her garden and cooking fresh food with produce, seeing first-hand the positive effects of fresh food and quality nutrition on a person’s overall health.
Steve Williams is a former executive and consultant who has spent his career in health care, administration, and chronic disease training and program development. For the last nine years of his career, he served as the executive director of Michigan Clinical Systems Improvement (Mi-CCSI), a nonprofit organization that adapted and developed programs and training for primary care teams in integrated patient management. During his career, he worked for two large, regional health care organizations and consulted with regional and national health plans and insurers on various operational and strategic initiatives.
